The 71st World War II Battle Monument Plaque Our Association and our Plaque are together again, thanks to the Curator of the NYS Military Museum, Courtney Burns. Last year when we questioned what might have happened to the 11 by 9 foot bronze plaque, last seen in the 14th Street armory, Courtney informed us it was in the Bedford and President Armory. The mission to move it to the Jamaica Armory was undertaken by the 258th FA and G Company of the 427 SB. No easy task since it weighed at least 1200 lbs. The move was lead by Capt. Napier, 258th and SFC Victor Lopez of G company . |
